What will your 2022 story be?

The Coaching Academy Blog

Posted: January 2022

Are you looking for: A new full or part time job? Flexible hours that fit around your life? An additional income stream? Or just want a new rewarding career where you help others? Learning to be a Life Coach might be for you.

The Coaching Academy has helped many people make a smooth transition to life coaching as a new full/part time career.

Whatever your reason for considering a change of direction, it’s reassuring to know that with The Coaching Academy, you’re in good hands.

Did you know?

Almost a quarter of workers are actively planning to change employers in the next few months, a report has claimed, as part of a “great resignation” prompted by a high number of vacancies and burnout caused by the pandemic.’ - The Guardian, 1st November 2021

Here are 5 reasons why it’s worth considering becoming a life coach

Stability - You don’t have to quit your day job or your other responsibilities to start on your path to becoming a life coach. At The Coaching Academy, many of our coaches in training continue to work in their full-time jobs as they train as a life coach. We’ve noticed that starting training to become a life coach has also helped people as they stayed in challenging jobs or situations through this transition time. They’ve been equipped with new coaching tools and techniques that have helped them to make the best of the situation that they’ve been in. Do you need a new career path that you can transition to over time and at a speed that suits you and allows you to continue to meet your responsibilities, both family and financial?

Values alignment - One of the reasons that you may be considering a change of direction is that you may not feel that your current work is a good fit for your values system. The wonderful thing about running your own coaching business is that you get to lead with your own values and create a business with integrity. How would it feel to you to have work that was aligned with your values?

Fulfilment - ‘I never cease to be amazed at the power of the coaching process to draw out the skills or talent that was previously hidden within an individual, and which invariably finds a way to solve a problem previously thought unsolvable.’ — John Russell, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson Europe, Ltd (source: The Leaders’ Haven)

As a life coach training company, it’s been incredible to witness the difference coaching makes both in the lives of those who become coaches and that they then go on to support in the lives of those they coach.

Ask yourself, what would it mean to you to help others to reach their full potential?

Professional growth - You’ll be fully supported by our expert trainers to make the most of the time that you spend learning how to become a life coach. More and more companies are realising the important and far-reaching impact coaching can have on an organisation. The Coaching Academy is also ICF accredited, underlining that the certifications we offer are for those who want to be respected professionals within the coaching industry.

Lifestyle factors - As a coach, it’s possible to work around your family responsibilities, such as bringing up a family or caring for any relatives who need help. You’re able to tailor your coaching practice and your niche to your personal interests and areas of expertise. You also need to be on your own path of personal growth as part of your work, an exciting prospect. You can use your increasing creativity in the sessions with your clients and in establishing and marketing your business. You decide upon the hours that you will work, the format your coaching offering will take, be that 1-1 or group offerings for example and you also select your own coaching rates. There is a great deal of freedom to create a coaching lifestyle that’s a ‘just right’ fit for you.

For some that will be coaching alongside other types of work, coaching to enhance your skill set for another type of job role or having your own coaching practice as a part-time or full-time venture and career path.

  • What would your ideal day as a coach look like?
  • What would you be doing?
  • Who would you be working with?
  • Where would you be working from?
  • What other fulfilling or nourishing things would you have time for in your life?

You don’t need to have answers to all these questions currently. They’re just a starting point to help you as you consider what it would be like for you to become a coach.
