What has led you to coaching?
I first heard of coaching many years ago and that first time, it caught my attention. It took me a few years to decide that I should find out more about it. I’ve always been a positive and happy person and already as a teenager, I wanted to help people be happier. I did not know about coaching and self-development then though.
Before I jumped on this coaching journey, I loved talking to people, getting to know them and I loved to listen but there was so much I did not know about personal development.
Coaching has opened my eyes and I have learned more than I could imagine about myself in the process, and about how our minds work. It is fascinating. And I’m still learning.
"I felt supported by the Coaching Academy throughout the diploma, by the amazing mentors but also by the other students."
What was the most rewarding part of your Coaching journey?
The Introduction to Life Coaching training confirmed I wanted to go into coaching. Meeting people there who were on a similar journey was also a game-changer for me.
The learning journey with The Coaching Academy is very rewarding. I never felt I was not good enough, even on my first coaching session. Instead, I felt I was always improving so each step of the journey was very enjoyable. Each part of the diploma was very practical and it was easy to incorporate the learning into my coaching sessions with practice clients.
I was very busy for 18 months, coaching, learning and attending the live days in the evening and weekends but it was good to do something that gave me a purpose.
I felt supported by the Coaching Academy throughout the diploma, by the amazing mentors but also by the other students.
"We [coaches] are not here to tell them [clients] what to do but to give them long term tools to help them see themselves in a different light, find solutions and take action to overcome any hardship."
Tell us about the work you do! How are you using your coaching skills?
Very early on, I decided to work with business owners. My business is Heedful Coaching. I had met a few struggling business owners before I started coaching and I felt compelled to help. I’m in awe of people starting their business and I want them to succeed, to be proud and to love their business and the life they are getting from it.
I love that coaching is all about getting people to find their own answers. We are not here to tell them what to do but to give them long term tools to help them see themselves in a different light, find solutions and take action to overcome any hardship.
I love helping my clients move forward and finding that motivation to keep going, to try new things, to feel unstoppable.
I love them to feel like everything is possible and achievable.
I mostly work 1 to 1 with clients but have also facilitated some group coaching. I love to see the support business owners get from each other’s as well.
What advice would you give someone wanting to pursue a life coaching career?

What are the best resources that have helped you along your coach training?
I’ve met some amazing people during my coaching training who have helped me, challenged me and brought the best out of me. And still do.
And of course, I have also met some incredible business owners who have trusted me and who have been through an amazing transformation.
These people are the ones who have helped me the most during my training and since I have qualified.
