Read on to find out more about Natalie's coaching journey and the remarkable impact she is having…
Before becoming a coach, Natalie was a primary school teacher, she now runs her own successful coaching business Power Thoughts, offering a teaching, coaching and mindfulness-based service which is aimed at empowering children to tap into the ‘power’ of their minds.
I’m the founder of Power Thoughts - a coaching and educational service designed to support the emotional well-being of children and their parents. I work as a confidence coach for children and my aim to help children learn the skills to know how to navigate their emotions, knowing they have a choice with regard to their thoughts as well as how they choose to respond. Essentially, I created Power Thoughts for younger Nat, as I was often a worrier and I’d really struggle with my own big emotions.
I was a former primary school teacher and I've seen how thousands of children really struggle when it comes to dealing with the stresses of the modern world - not only when it comes to their academic, but when managing their online world, friendships and more. Anxiety is rapidly on the rise among children, and I wanted to provide children and their parents with the support - the aim of this work is to be preventative rather than reactive. But this is also about parents, because so many of us have not been given the tools or shown how to regulate and work through our own uncomfortable emotions, so as parents and adults, we are learning too.
So far, I have worked with over 40,000 children worldwide, sharing the insights and strategies that supports children’s mental health. I’ve also co-authored 4 activity books for children, all on the theme of managing emotions, building confidence and self-belief. I’m also a BBC Super Tutor and have been involved in exciting projects regarding children’s mental health.
I plan to focus on the corporate sector as I want to have a greater impact with the work I do. By supporting working parent networks within organisations, I’m able to impact the lives of thousands of families. My work in the corporate space is a blend of in-person workshops as well as providing online resources that families can dip in and out of to support them.
Training to be a coach has been life-changing for me. I never ever would’ve thought that it would lead me to where I am today. The journey has been up and down, but each step has led me to where I am today.
The best thing about coaching is that it’s allowed me to work on myself along the process. It’s literally the best gift I could’ve given myself, and be sharing with the world.
Thank you Natalie for sharing your inspiration and impactful coaching journey with us.
