Coaching has come a long way since its inception in the 1980s. Initially focused on improving sports performance, coaching has evolved to encompass various personal and professional development aspects. Today, countless types of coaching are available, from life coaching to health & wellness coaching. The rise of technology and remote working has been extremely positive for the future of coaching, making coaching increasingly accessible through video conferencing software.
As our world continues to change and evolve, so does the field of coaching - with new methodologies and approaches emerging all the time. Coaching is no longer just for athletes or executives; it's for anyone who wants to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the benefits of coaching. As people face increasingly complex challenges in their personal and professional lives, they turn to coaches for guidance and support. Coaching offers a unique opportunity to work with an experienced professional who can help you identify your strengths, clarify your goals, and develop strategies for success.
With the rise of online coaching platforms and social media, connecting with coaches worldwide is easier than ever. As we said, more and more people recognise that coaching is not just for high-level executives or athletes - it's for anyone who wants to improve their lives and achieve their full potential. Whether you want to make a career change, improve your relationships, or enhance your physical health, a coach can help you get where you want to be. At The Coaching Academy, we're delighted to help potential coaches find fulfilment and purpose through life coaching, as well as being actively involved in shaping the future of coaching.

Significant research and studies have been undertaken on the effectiveness of coaching, and we know that coaching transforms lives and helps our clients reach their goals further than if they were to go it alone. But the 'how' is still largely unexplored… until now.
At The Coaching Academy, we're excited to partner with Tia Moin, a PhD student at the University of Reading. This large-scale study will analyse "how" coaching works and what coaching behaviours from the coach or client led to successful outcomes. This research has never been done before, so we are delighted to be part of this leading research.
The study invites coaches and student coaches from all backgrounds and levels of experience - alongside three or more of their clients - to participate in the research.
