Why Should I Gain An ICF Credential?

The Coaching Academy Blog

Posted: September 2021

Our courses have been recognised by the ICF, but what does that mean for you, your learning, and your coaching business? Keep reading to find out!

What does our ICF Recognition mean?

At The Coaching Academy, we are proud to have been providing industry-leading training for over 22 years. In addition to already being awarded the ACSTH recognition, The ICF, or International Coaching Federation, have now also recognised our niche training courses as being of high and consistent quality. All of our niche training workshops are ICF recognised, which means that, following attendance to these sessions, you will be provided with CCE hours and you’ll know you have attended a practical and informed coach training session.

Keep reading this blog to find out what this exactly means and what it could mean for your learning and coaching career.

 What courses does this cover?

The ICF has recognised our Niche Coaching sessions as being worthy of their stamp of approval. Our Niche training includes, but isn't limited to, the following coaching areas:

  • Confidence Coaching
  • Reinvention Coaching
  • Career Coaching
  • Relationship Coaching
  • Holistic coaching
  • Wellbeing Coaching

Do you want to see what niche training sessions are coming up? Visit our course calendar here.

What is ICF?

ICF stands for The International Coaching Federation, and they are focused on promoting best practices within the coaching industry. This is partly through providing certifications to professionals worldwide.

The ICF is globally recognised for:

  • Promoting their professional code of ethics and standards
  • Their internationally recognised credential programme
  • Guiding coaches through their careers
  • Engaging the industry in important conversations
  • Paving the way for the future of the industry
  • Hosting a series of events to promote education

What are CCE hours?

To gain, and maintain, an ICF Credential, a coach must complete a certain amount of Continuing Coach Education (CCE) learning hours. Thanks to our ICF recognition, each niche training course will now grant you 6 CCE hours.

The number of CCE hours you need for your credential will differ depending on which level you wish to apply for.

Why should I earn an ICF Credential?

By earning an ICF credential, you will be able to highlight to potential clients that you are a knowledgeable and skilled coach. You will be able to show your skills by including a badge on your website.

By earning an ICF credential, you will be demonstrating your commitment to your own excellence in coaching through continuous education and practice of your skills. Once credentialed you will be awarded a digital credential that you can share through your social media platforms and website.

These ICF badges will set you head and shoulders above others in the industry, opening doors for you and your business, showing what you're capable of.

The Coaching Academy has worked extensively to ensure our diplomas are accredited and endorsed, you can read more about our full range of life coaching accreditations.
