It changed my life and inspired me to qualify as a coach, so I could pay forward the benefits coaching gave me.
During my training with TCA, the live Accelerator Days were a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, which was amazing. Indeed, I have made some great friends, who continue to motivate and inspire me today. Knowing that I wasn’t alone was so empowering and gave me the confidence to keep going.
I managed to make room for my coaching studies around a full-time job and two young children, because it was important to me. I prioritised it. I tried to do something towards it almost every day. In September 2018, I qualified with a Distinction in Life Coaching Diploma, which I am completely thrilled with!
So, what’s next?
I am now director of SE Associates Ltd. My business vision includes working with other coaches and professions, in collaborative projects. Business is thriving, and I signed my first corporate client within hours of launching the business!
My dream is to make a positive impact in the world by promoting well-being in the workplace. It’s a win : win scenario; individuals and teams who feel good at work, are always going to be more productive and successful than those who are stressed out, worn out and completely demotivated.
I am the author of the upcoming book “Essential Contemplations for Modern Leaders” due to be published soon, which explores my well-being in the workplace philosophy in more detail, with practical applications and action steps.
My coaching programmes are now CPD accredited and I am a member of the International Coaching federation (ICF).
Charity work is part of SE Associates business vision, and we currently offer pro-bono coaching and voluntary leadership support to our local community charity.
I honestly feel like I’m on my path, and everything I have done so far has come together to give me the skills and experience to really start to make a difference. I am grateful every day for where I am, where I have come from, and for the exciting opportunities that the future holds.
May I wish you the very best of luck and success on your journey. I will leave you with a couple of tips I learned along the way, to hopefully help you too:
My Top Tips:
For those looking to qualify as a professional coach
Do your research. Decide what is important to you in a training programme and select a training provider based on that.
For those in training with TCA currently
Tip 1: Open the box! Start! It’s not so scary once you get going!!
Tip 2: Take small steps regularly and keep going. Book your training days in to keep you motivated and working towards them.
Tip 3: Write your learning record sheets as you go along. They will improve along your journey, but if you don’t do it as you go, it will make pulling your folder together more difficult at the end!
For those approaching qualification
Tip 1: Keep going until you submit. Don’t finish your final practical assessment and then stop. No matter how tempting that might be, once all the hard work is done. Keep going. Submit. Then you will become qualified!
Tip 2: Use the mentoring to help you plan the step beyond qualification, into your business and the wide world, as this can be a daunting one!
