What did you find most interesting to learn while training with us?
Personally, I have learned so much about myself. Constant negative mind chatter, putting myself down, use of disempowering language towards myself and holding myself back. Through this journey, I have pushed myself in ways I did not think possible at the time. I speak to myself with respect and lift myself up. I have developed a key passion for helping those just like me who got to a point in life and just felt stuck, as if the path chosen was the only way things could be.
What was the most rewarding part of the training/journey?
The most rewarding part of this journey has been not only learning so much about myself, but working with clients and watching them on their journey, making progress in their own lives.
The Accelerator Days are really good fun. The opportunity to meet like-minded people is a wonderful experience. I have made new friends along the way, and we are still connected now.
How did the qualification slot in with your current life?
My initial thoughts were to rush through so I could become qualified, but really, the coaching training is more about the journey than the destination. Even as a qualified coach, I am constantly learning and growing.
What else did you have to consider whilst qualifying?
The main things I had to consider whilst qualifying was how i would lift my coaching business of the ground. The minimum coaching hours requirment was a fantastic way of pushing myself out into the coaching world and I have found that not only did my practice clients become paying clients, but they told their friends, who told their friends.
Where are you now? How are you using your coaching skills?
I am currently a fully qualified coach with an established coaching practice set up with a bank of clients, who I very much enjoy working with.
I am active on Instagram and post content 3-4 times per week, and also to my blog through my website.
What is your coaching niche and why did you choose it?
I will eventually niche into a specific area, but for the moment my clients range from areas in People and relationships, health & wellbeing, confidence, addiction and career & business. I find health to be quite seasonal, confidence is very often an issue across the board, career sessions include many start up businesses looking to organise themselves and addiction varies from food addiction & eating disorders, drugs and alcoholism. Having spent years with an eating disorder, I feel very blessed to be in a position where I can help others in a similar area.
What is the best thing that could happen to your coaching business in the next 2 years?
…With a team of coaches working with me, I would be able to focus on writing content and motivational speaking to large groups.
Without a doubt, the ability to help other to achieve their goals by taking them from where they are now, to where they want to be! I also enjoy my life more now that I am able to understand myself and others better.
What are your top tips for:
Those coaches currently in training?
I know it may feel overwhelming at times, and I know the Practical Assessments can be scary, but just think about how amazing you are going to feel when you become a fully qualified coach. You could ask yourself, what were the benefits you called out at the start?
Coaches that are about to qualify?
Get a coach if you haven’t already! The next steps for you could well be establishing your business, setting up a website, marketing yourself as a coach … with lots of things to do, it’s good to have a coach to keep you accountable to achieve your own goals.
People that are in a similar situation to yourself?
Choose collaboration over competition. You can gain so much more from lifting up your neighbour than feeling intimidated by what they are doing. Trust in yourself and your own message, and the clients will follow.
