The Wheel of Life is an effective tool used in coaching and personal development that allows people to 'check-in' on their life and their current goals. It is used as a simple yet powerful diagnostic and assessment device that provides clarity and allows you to evaluate the different areas of your life.

There are eight or more categories within the Wheel which represent different areas of your life, as such it allows you delve deeper into every facet of your life and understand where you are currently and where you would like to be in the future. 

The wheel can be used in a multitude of different ways to map out and enhance your personal and professional growth. Here are 5 useful ways to use the Wheel of Life: 

1. For a Life Audit

A life audit is an exercise in self-reflection that helps you clear the cobwebs off your goals. The Wheel of Life can help you touch base with where you are at currently and empower you to push forward to achieve your dreams. 

2. To set meaningful goals 

The Wheel of Life is a great way to identify and set meaningful goals. By working through each section of the wheel you will be able to delve deeper into different areas of your life and better understand your current path. As such, you are able to use it as a launch pad to set meaningful and clear goals to help propel you into the future. 

3. To find the right life balance 

As the Wheel of Life is broken down into 8 or more different categories to reflect areas of your life, it is a great life balance measure. It can be used to discover which areas of your life are working well and which categories require more effort. In this way, it can help you discover the right life balance.

4. In a coaching session 

The role of a life coach is to help other to bridge the gap between where they are currently and where they would like to be. A life coach achieves this with a number of techniques and tools, including, the Wheel of Life. In doing so, they empower their clients to fulfil their potential and achieve their personal and professional goals. 

5. To understand your core values 

The Wheel is a wonderful way to see where your priorities and values truly lie. By taking time to self-reflect on where you are at currently and where you would like to be you give yourself the chance to step back and look a little deeper at what is important to you.
