Carmen has shared her top 7 success tips for coaches below, which have been key to her success.
1. Focus on what really inspires you and what brings out your passion. The more you focus on what you feel inspired by and passionate about, the more of it you attract into your life.
2. If you have a niche market in coaching, think about what you have to offer in terms of your specialist skill... Who will benefit from what you have and what they will be struggling with. Identify their problem. Once you've done that it will make the marketing much easier. You will be able to create awareness of being the answer to their problem.
3. Keep to what you are good at. Don't try to be everything to everybody because it will make your business look quite cluttered and messy.
4. Customer service is key because your clients are your business. It's important to keep looking after your clients even after you've finished coaching them. Keep in touch with them via a newsletter, social media, blog or mobile. See if you can offer after-sales support.
5. Never give up. If you are not doing something to build your business then maybe you haven't got a good action plan. Use the Mountain of Gold: visualise yourself at the top of the mountain (having achieved a goal). Have a really strong picture of what it is you want. Be specific. Describe what you see, notice, hear, think... create a memory of that future. Have a date when it becomes a reality. It will give you a strong sense of direction. Recognise when you have achieved it.
6. Look at who can be part of your Dream Team. You need other people to build your business. It should include a Virtual Assistant to do the lower fee earning work, the administration, maybe some marketing. A VA will work in your business and so allow you time to focus on the activities that will enable you to bring in the opportunities and to do the work you are getting paid to do. You can't develop a business when you are bogged down doing all those types of things. Build the rest of your Dream Team: other coaches, friends on other businesses. Maybe have a core group - intensive support - meet up once every month or two.
7. Model someone in your niche market who is successful. Be aware of what is it about them that makes them successful. Speak to them and ask what their secret is. Is it their confidence, beliefs, determination, energy, risk-taking, fearlessness or their ability to see support?
By implementing above you can boost your Coaching business.
