Coach in the Spotlight - Nicola Thomas

I can't quite believe it was less than a year ago that I was sitting in the 2 day Introduction to Coaching event wondering whether coaching was for me. I had heard of it but frankly I couldn't see how I could make money from it. How could this be a full time job? How could people see ME as a coach?

I can’t quite believe it was less than a year ago that I was sitting in the 2 day Introduction to Coaching event wondering whether coaching was for me.

I had heard of it but frankly I couldn’t see how I could make money from it. How could this be a full time job? How could people see ME as a coach?

I was in a pretty strange time in my life where everything seemed to have fallen down around me and my self-esteem was at rock bottom.

The Free 2 day Coaching Academy event gave me a chance to look into my future, to plan where I wanted my life to go rather than just ‘hoping’ for the best. It gave me back my voice and a chance to take control of my life again.

At the end of those two days I signed up for the Life Coaching Diploma and for the first time in a while I felt like I had direction and support.

One thing I was told on the 2 day introductory event was that your life will change and not everyone will get it.
…..and they were right.

After a month on the course I had the courage to walk away from the failing areas of my life, whilst I also navigated the difficulties of moving house (twice) and finding employment to tie me over whilst I studied, the coaching became a power force to me as well as becoming the thing in my life that could completely alter my life destination.

And where am I now?

I am worlds away from the person who attended the course just 10 months ago. On my coaching journey I’ve found ‘me’ and have started to believe in myself again. I have already started up my business and have a limited company. I have built a following that read my weekly newsletter and are part of my online community; I have become a contributing writer for The Huffington Post and recently was asked to comment for the BBC.

If someone had told me this a year ago I would have thought they were mad but it’s really shown me that you can do anything you put your mind to.

I finally feel I have a job that I am passionate about and one that truly helps others.  I help so many men and women change their lives for the better and I can’t believe how rewarding my life has become….and all from one decision made just a few months ago.
