Coach in the Spotlight - Debora Luzi

The Coaching Academy Blog

A while ago I was going through a very difficult time in my life, a time of changes and insecurities where I felt very lost. A friend suggested I see a life coach as it was really helping her to gain clarity in her life, so I decided to give it a go.

I am so grateful she recommended it to me. My coach really helped me find my way again, helping me to change negative patterns which were ruling my life and make positive changes. After having my first session I thought to myself” This is what I want to do”.

At the time i was working as an events and marketing manager and living in an area of comfort as I had three children and felt secure in my job. The idea was always there but it felt too hard for me to make it happen until one day I had a disagreement with my boss. I didn’t like the way I was being treated and I saw an advert on Facebook to attend The Coaching Academy 2-day event.

Suddenly a light of hope sprung to my mind and I signed up straight away. Since then I have thanked my boss for what had happened as otherwise I wouldn’t have found the courage to take the first step.

As soon as I attended the 2-day event I felt hooked. I loved the idea of making a living whilst helping and empowering others to live a better life. I knew by helping myself first, living and walking the journey to a more empowered life that I could help others to do the same.

My journey began shortly after and I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved learning about how limiting beliefs affect our life on all levels and how to help people overcome them through thoughtful questions and coaching techniques. I particularly enjoyed finding different clients through all walks of life. Every time I would meet a client I felt one step closer to reaching my goal.

One of the most rewarding parts of my amazing journey was seeing people changing, having light bulb moments in front of my very own eyes and hearing about the progress that my clients were making. I had a client who felt so stuck in her job and as though she couldn’t find a way out, after 5 sessions she had finally got the job of her dreams. This moment was priceless.

When I signed up after the two days I had no idea how I could manage it all. I had a demanding job, three children and a family to keep together but I maintained the faith and told myself that somehow I would manage and I did.

A year and a half later I have now left my job and started my own business. I built it slowly and I am continuing to do so every day. This part is so beautiful and rewarding as you can really see your business grow. I combine my coaching skills with alternative therapies. I work a lot with people’s energies, balancing their chakras and specialise in fears and beliefs work.

Many people do not know what to do next once they have cleared negativity and old patterns from their life and body. I have found when working with clients that when they have cleared anxiety or stress they are un-sure of what to do next and that is where coaching comes in as it can assist them to find a new way of creating the life they always wanted.

I also organise workshops called “Empower your life now” where I combine coaching with holistic therapies and energy work through meditation, sound, visualisation and Reiki energy.

A tip I would give to anyone looking at coaching is to just follow your gut feeling, if this feels right for you do not hesitate you are up for an amazing ride. I made it while working full time and being a mum to three children. Persist, focus and get organised. Make a routine of your studies and even a routine for seeing clients and remember whatever you learn practice it on yourself first; you are your first and most important client.
